Earlier, after changing Lucas's diaper, I called him my little Tater Tot. (Yes, I do have an endless supply of nicknames for my kids!) And I looked up and asked Eli, "He does look like a tater tot right? He is small and round." Cue Eli laughing out loud and agreeing. And he said, "I'm a tater tot too. A big tater tot." I agree with him as well.
Meanwhile, Lucas, still on the changing table, and in an oh-so cutesy, cheesy voice I say, "Rubber baby buggy bumper. Hmmm....Rubber baby. Like, from a rubber tree. Lucas, did you come from a rubber tree? A rubber tree in Brazil?"
Now, I've not totally lost my marbles. I'm actually somewhat applying what I learned today in kindergarten history. Eli and I 'traveled to' Brazil today and learned about some of its natural resources. One of those was the rubber tree, in which we can get rubber bands, balloons, rubber boots, etc. Another fun fact to gain from this is, when you cut into the bark of a rubber tree, it will ooze latex!
Now, as I recall so many fun facts from teaching kindergarten this year, I just might be smarter than a 5th grader in a few more years.
If you like, I can write more fun thoughts that travel through my head from time to time. Really, it can be quite entertaining! And as always, thank you for visiting my blog. I wish all my readers a very happy Friday the 13th and a fun and safe weekend.

ReplyDeleteThere is a major typo at the end of the 2nd paragraph. On my site, it's typed correctly. So, not sure why it hasn't posted correctly here. It is supposed to read...
ReplyDelete"I'm a tater tot too. A big tater tot."
