April was such a roller coaster!!! Started off so stressful from day 1! Thought Eli was having some kind of seizures, Noah was doing very poorly in progressing in speech, very poor eating and sleeping. It was just looking awful. And then his 2 therapies he was receiving got cut back 50% and this definitely was not helping his situation. All I could think was he is nearly 2 years old and struggles greatly to do basic things, talking, eating, and sleeping.
But then a miracle happened! After 6 full months of speech therapy, the last week in April, he suddenly began copying words we say (1 word at a time, or a portion of 1 word at a time). He even would spontaneously say a word, like coming to me holding his Mickey Mouse toy saying "Mickey!", sounded like "icky". :) He started to eat new foods, although at a very slow pace, and very small bites, he did it! And also started to drink from a sippy. And at the very last day in April, he slept a full nights sleep without waking once!! I give praise to God for what feels like a miracle! I think the mouth and blowing exercises we've been working on the last several weeks has helped also.
Now we're into May, and it's looking great! Saturday we will celebrate Eli turning 4, and Noah 2. :)
